The 2021 cohort.

First year open to all African undergraduates — and the Challenge becomes a reality TV show with KU TV.

SDGs 12–15 · the Green Agenda

The 2021 edition opened up beyond Kenya for the first time, inviting African undergraduates and technical-college students aged 18–25 across the continent. The thematic focus was SDGs 12–15: responsible consumption and production, climate action, life under water and life on land.

A new partnership with Kenyatta University TV (KU TV) turned the 2021 season into a reality TV show — both extending mentorship and spreading the green message to the masses. The application window ran from 19 August through 9 November 2021, with prizes of up to KSh 100,000 for winning teams.
